Food Processing

Contaminant-free air is of major importance in food processing, food prep, and food storage areas. Dynamic Air Cleaners remove dangerous airborne particles and pathogens that other air cleaning systems miss…including bacteria, allergens, fine dust, odors and VOCs…without producing any harmful ozone.

Dynamic Air Cleaners can extend shelf life and reduce scrap by capturing airborne impurities.

And studies show that over 90% of the cost of air filtration is energy (the fan horsepower required to push air through filters). In addition, there is labor to change the media and costs of disposal. Dynamic Air Cleaners can have a significant impact on reducing these costs as compared to traditional bag and cartridge filters. Dynamic V-bank air cleaners can last up to 7 times longer than comparable cartridge filters and can cut down the mid-life static pressure by as much as 1.5” of static.

The net savings on using Dynamic Air Cleaners can often generate a return on investment of 3 to 5 years.

To prevent the spread of airborne infectious diseases, the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) recommends MERV 13 (or better) central air filtration, increased outdoor ventilation air, longer HVAC run times, and the addition of UVGI devices, among other things.

The Dynamic Sterile Sweep Germicidal System is designed to provide ultraviolet germicidal irradiation on the surface of Dynamic Polarized-Media Air Cleaners to provide a "catch, hold, kill" solution that deactivates the DNA in pathogens where food is being prepared, packaged, and stored.

A series of articles in the Journal of Food Science in 2002 concluded that the shelf life of meat and poultry could be extended dramatically with polarized-media air cleaners:
